Your chimney may be the only thing that stands between you and a warm house. It may be the one thing that makes your house unsafe. It may be a risk every time you light a fire. Hiring a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep is the only way to ensure that your chimney is in good hands, in good shape, and will have a long life.
Professional Services
Hiring a CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep to take care of your chimney system is like hiring a doctor to diagnose your body, or a mechanic to diagnose your car. There are systems and parts at work in the chimney that homeowners can’t see. A chimney sweep will diagnose and correct a problem promptly, and with the utmost professionalism. Certified chimney sweeps are backed by hours of training and endorsed by the national standard of excellence of the Chimney Safety Institute of America.
CSIA Certification
Accreditation and Cohesion – The Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) is regulated by the Indiana State Workforce Innovation Council, Office for Career and Technical Schools. It meets the highest educational standards. The standards remain the same nationwide despite state regulation.
Non-Profit Status – CSIA is not a money-making organization. It has been a non-profit organization since its establishment in 1983. Volunteers across the industry govern the CSIA.
Examination – Chimney sweeps must pass a 1 hour, 100 question exam about successful chimney sweeping. In addition, there is a 90-minute open-book exam based on international residential code.
Code of Ethics – At the time of the exam, candidates are required to sign a code of ethics designed to protect homeowners from scams. If a member violates this code, they can have certification revoked.
Continuing Education – Finally, CSIA certified chimney sweeps must to re-certify every three years through examination or continued education credits.
The CSIA Difference
You can rest assured knowing CSIA-certified companies and technicians prioritize fire safety. The goal of the CSIA and its members are to bring down the number of accidental fires each year by educating the public and related industries about fire safety. CSIA members make fire safety standards a strict priority and also adhere to municipal fire codes. We also work with neighboring professionals and competitors to make sure that homes outside their areas receive service.
Robinson Maintenance Repair, Inc. makes chimney safety the #1 priority. We do excellent work in the Chicagoland area with a main goal of customer service.
